Why Laptop is not turning on?

These are things you can do to fix the problem if your laptop does not turn on, or does not boot when turned on.

Below are troubleshooting measures to help determine what could stop your laptop from switching on. For the best performance, we suggest going through each of them.

Connect the power cable adapter

Some AC adapters have a pin that plugs into the laptop at the end of the adapter. While it might seem obvious, connecting the AC adapter may solve the problem if your laptop is running on battery power only. Make sure the adapter cable attached properly at both sides your battery is dead or faulty if the laptop runs with the adapter plugged in. Observe the connector of the adapter that plugs into the laptop and check if a bent or damaged pin is present. If there is, no power from the Adapter is supplied to the laptop. The Adaptive needs to be replaced to fix the problem.

Disconnect from the dock

Disconnect it and try attaching the power cord directly to the laptop if your laptop uses a docking station. Try turning the laptop on, then.

Note: Many new laptops (especially MacBooks) use an architecture which does not enable the removal of their batteries. .If there isn’t a removable battery on your laptop.

The laptop can also be in a connection to power that prevents it from booting. Disconnect the power cable and then remove the laptop’s battery. Leave the both disconnected for few minutes from the laptop. Then put the battery back in the laptop, plug in the power cord, and attempt to turn the laptop on.

Drain the Laptop charge

An excess electrical charge will often prevent your laptop from turning on. You can think of it as an “electricity stoppage.” You basically drain your laptop of all electricity and start over by performing the following steps, which also results in it powering up.

Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery (if possible).

  • If the laptop powers on, shut down the laptop normally.
  • If you were able to remove the laptop battery, put the battery back in the laptop.
  • Power on the laptop again, and verify that it boots correctly.
  • If this process does not work for you, repeat and hold the power button for one minute or longer at step two.
